worship and action

Well, It is Saturday night!

This week the youth group from my church went to camp in Lake Placid, Florida. We took 90 something students, which is thanks all to grace because the week before camp we had only 30 sign up. There were a TON of new kids who don’t even come to our youth group who attended. It was an awesome time of worship, but more than that, souls were saved. By grace I was able to lead worship a little in the last couple sessions along with some of the other worship leaders from my church. I’ll post some pictures from camp when I get them.

Camp this year did a lot for me. I didn’t have a lot of love for youth camps. Usually, camps are all about getting your kids to cry for Jesus (only on the last night of course) and I’m not into that. This year, it was different. I witnessed genuine worship from a worship leader who wasn’t trying to get kids to cry, instead he was trying to get kids to worship, then take what they learn in worship and apply it. To simplify it, “Worship and Action”.  Also because I didn’t lead every song, I saw camp from a different perspective. I only lead a couple songs and played electric guitar on the rest. I can notice a lot more when I just play guitar, I notice the worship leader’s heart because he’s leading me along with the crowd.

I learned a lot, and my expectations were blown away.
