This may be overdone
This is my newest thought on how to make church more masculine….
why not call your men’s ministry, community groups and/or small groups… Fight Clubs?
If you say to a man, “Hey want to come to our monthly men’s ministry meeting?” or “Hey want to come to my small group?”, is he going to find those titles feminine?
What about this….
“Hey want to come to my fight club?”.
I think it sounds pretty cool…. and masculine
Over done? Not really. How about “Pirate Worship?” My seminary work group did a skit, complete with pirate garb, where our plans to reach men in the community through pirate worship went astray. You had to be there to appreciate the humor, but the point of the skit was to show how poor planning can impact even a good idea. Name changes to reach men aren’t out of line, provided the event really is manly. Might want to think about adding some video fight games to fight club meetings. And yes, I’m serious.
